Defensive errors saw Mamelodi Sundowns missing on opportunity to go top of the CAF Champions League, Group C with about three games to go.

The African champions were missing defender Wayne Adrense at the heart of the defence, influential captain Hlompho Kekana in the middle of the park and talisman Khama Billiat up-front, who is still recovering from injuries.

The Brazilians find themselves in a rough tough situation after conceding a goal to the Tunisians within the first six minutes after a defensive error by the new-comer Motjeka Madisha who was latter substituted by Bangally Soumahoro.

Sundowns were rewarded for their pressing effort in the 26 minutes when Percy Tau made breakthrough run and lay-off the ball on for Sibusiso Vilakazi, whose tap in gave the champions the equaliser, and the two sides had to start off play on level terms once more.

A reckless challenge by Bangaly in the box resulted in a penalty on 89 minutes, which Khenisse made no mistake from the spot to give the Tunisians their second and deciding goal.

Mamelodi Sundowns are second on the group collecting only four points from three games.
