Chiefs suffers another last minute shock, 1:1

Absa Premiership: Kaizer Chiefs 1:1 Golden Arrows

Golden Arrows came from a goal down to snatch a last minute equalizer to hold Kaizer Chiefs to a 1-1 stalemate in an Absa Premiership match at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday night.

Another last minute defensive error and lapse of concentration cost Amakhosi yet another vital points to finish the season on a high note or qualify for the continental football for the next season.

The game became live in the 77th minute when substitute Ryan Moon controlled the ball beautifully, before beating Arrows keeper Nkosingiphile Gumede from outside the box to make it 1-0 in favour of the home side Kaizer Chiefs.

The visitors pressed hard in the dying minutes of the match – playing enterprising football as they looked to penetrate the home side’s defence and were rewarded for their effort when the second-half substitute Knox Mutizwa out-jumps his markers to head one home.

The draw sees Chiefs remain fourth on the league table with 47 points – four points behind the third placed defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns and seven behind log leaders Bidvest Wits, while Abafana Bes’thende climb up to the ninth spot on the standings.
