Downs do double over Bucs, Wits maintains top-spot

Absa Premiership: Mamelodi Sundowns complete double over the Buccaneers, Bidvest Wits claims three points against Maritzburg United to maintain three points gab advantage at the top of the 2016/17 Absa Premiership table standing.

The defending champions Mamelodi Sundown beat Orlando Pirates  2:0 away at Orlando Stadium in Soweto to complete the eight goals double against the sea-robbers this season, thanks to first-half goal from Khama Billiat and second half finish by Yannick Zakri.

Meanwhile Bidvest Wits continued with a good run in front of their home fans when they beat Durban based Maritzburg United 1:0 to remain at the top of the table.

With three points difference between Mamelodi Sundown and Bidvest Wits at the top of the Absa Premiership, the win for both clubs means the league might be decided on the last day of the season.

Log-leaders Bidvest Wits take on Free State Stars away in their next encounter while Mamelodi Sundowns host Baroka FC.
