Jurgen Klopp has labelled Premier League champion Claudio Ranieri as a “wonderful person,” following his dismissal by Leicester City.
Just 24 hours after sealing a creditable 2-1 loss against Sevilla, in the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie, Ranieri’s exit was announced.
The Italian coach has received much sympathy from the football world, having led Leicester to unprecedented glory last term, winning the title by a 10-point margin.
However, Foxes owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha delivered the shocking sacking, due to a fear over relegation to the Championship.
On Saturday, Leicester fell into the drop zone with a game in hand, which they will play against Liverpool at the King Power Stadium on Monday evening.
Ahead of that clash in the East Midlands, Klopp has predicted that Ranieri will soon be appointed by another club.
As reported by the Liverpool Echo, the Liverpool manager said: “He’s a wonderful person.
“When you play against him, he always accepts the rules, does whatever he can to win the game in the 90 minutes and after the game you can be best friends again if you are best friends.
“I am sure he will be somewhere else in not too much time and someone else will benefit from his experience.”
Liverpool were one of only two teams to defeat Leicester in their Premier League-winning campaign, with a 1-0 victory at Anfield in
