CSA lauds Proteas Women saying they show more commitment than male team

Cricket South Africa has praised the Momentum Proteas for showing more hunger than their counterparts following a five-match One Day International (ODI) series win over Bangladesh at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday.

South Africa women’s team run rout Bangladesh women’s team by an astounding 94runs with in the fourth ODI, to take an impressive 3-1 lead in the series.

Speaking in an interview, CSA Chief Executive, Haroon Lorgat was delighted with the Proteas’ performance and credited the whole squad for exhibiting excellency.

“Congratulations to captain Dane van Niekerk, head coach Hilton Moreeng and the rest of the players and management staff on a very pleasing series victory in Bangladesh,” said Lorgat.

“Winning on the sub-continent is never easy and this is encouraging ahead of our participation in the ICC Women’s World Cup qualifying tournament to be played in Sri Lanka next month.

“The tour was ideal preparation to what our team can expect in Sri Lanka,” he added.

Proteas Women will play their fifth and final 0DI series against Bangladesh Women’s team on Friday at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar, at 05:00 (local time).
