English giants Manchester United are believed to make tentative enquires regarding the possibility of signing Atletico Madrid’s starlet Antoine Griezmann for a record fee that would surpass the like of Neymar Jr and Gareth Bale.
The 25-year-old Frenchman has been pivotal for the La Liga side, scoring 13 goals in 29 appearances for Diego Simeone’s side this season, but has often rubbished claims regarding departure and his future.
According to an article from The Sun, there is plenty of transfer talks surrounding Atletico forward’s future, as they reported that United are prepared to splash approximately 100 euros (R1.4b) to lure the player to the Barclays Premier League.
The publication also reported that Red Devils’ manager Jose Mourinho’s mission is to bring big-name stars after also bringing Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimović and Hendric Mikhitaryan to the Theatre of Dreams few months ago.
Despite Griezmann extending his contract until 2021, Atletico Madrid are reportedly willing to consider transfer negotiations with clubs that are interested in making an offer to Griezmann.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are all reportedly interested in Griezmann.
