PSL confirmed rules for MTN8 semi-finals

On Saturday, 17 September, Cape Town City will host Bidvest Wits at Cape Town Stadium. Kick-off is at 20h15. City lost the first leg 3-0.

On Wednesday night, 21 September, Mamelodi Sundowns will welcome Chippa United at Loftus Stadium at 19h30. The teams played to a goalless draw in the first duel.

Please be advised of the following Rules in relation to Saturday and next Wednesday’s MTN8 semi-final second leg fixtures:

“6.4 Both semi-final ties will consist of two legs played on a home and away basis. The club which scores a higher aggregate number of goals in the two matches of each semi-final tie will qualify for the final.

6.4.1 If after the end of regular time of the second match of each tie, the two clubs have scored the same number of goals during the two matches, the club which will have scored the greater number of away goals will qualify for the final”.

6.4.2 If the number of away goals is also the same the winner of the tie will be determined by the taking of penalty kicks according to the Laws of the Game. There will be no extra time.

*The tickets are available at TicketPro outlets nationwide at R60 for adults and R15 for children under the age of 12 for both MTN8 second leg semi-final fixtures.

City are scheduled to host Wits at Cape Town Stadium in the second-leg game on 17 September, with Sundowns hosting Chippa at Loftus Stadium in the other game on 21 September
